Sales Representative - Job Description

Requirements: Qualified candidates must be currently employed within the pharmaceutical industry. They need a minimum of 1.5 years of sales experience in the industry. In addition, we require a four-year undergraduate degree with a minimum GPA of 2.8. Familiarity with sales information and reporting systems is a plus. Candidates must demonstrate strong selling skills and be highly organized, energetic, focused, and dedicated.

Responsibilities: Sales Representatives are required to represent Purdue professionally and with the highest degree of integrity and business ethics. Representatives are responsible for expanding sales in a designated territory and providing continuing education and service to general and specialty physicians. The Sales Representative is responsible for increasing and maintaining market share for company products within a designated territory. Representatives will conduct product presentations to physicians and other health care professionals, primarily at a physician’s office or hospital. Developing an understanding of the issues and opportunities unique to each territory and communicating that to colleagues within the company is required. Representatives are responsible for coordinating samples and promotional and educational materials to maximize sales within company, regulatory, and ethical guidelines. All Sales Representatives are accountable for all pharmaceutical samples and associated materials in accordance with PDMA, FDA, and DEA guidelines. Each Representative is responsible for planning and organizing each day’s itinerary and associated meeting plans. Representatives from time to time are required to attend and participate in medical and/or trade conventions, special company-sponsored functions, field programs in other territories around the country, and company meetings and training programs.
